Music education, especially in the pursuit of the study of the voice, should rely upon a holistic approach to musical and artistic development. I am committed to providing comprehensive instruction that not only cultivates technical proficiency but also fosters a deep understanding of the interconnectedness between music, the body, expressive communication, and global community. The pursuit of the voice is a deeply vulnerable, intimate process; it’s easy to doubt oneself along the way. I want my students to learn to cultivate and learn how to trust their own instincts, impulses, and ideas. Musical and dramatic study of the voice have immense benefits on- and offstage. By providing the fertile ground on which students can work, I effectively provide them the resources they need to maintain and tend to the garden of their rich inner worlds.
